Yadira I. Torres, Psy.D. is a bilingual, licensed clinical psychologist who earned her M.S. and Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Carlos Albizu University. She completed her pre-doctoral, child psychology internship at Applewood Centers, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio. She later went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics. During her postdoctoral training, Dr. Torres specialized in the assessment and treatment of developmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorders. Dr. Torres has extensive training in evidence-based psychotherapies including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Coping Cat, and Behavior Modification Therapy. She has additional training in play therapy, family therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and neuropsychological assessment as well as personality assessment. Dr. Torres has additional experience working with victims of child abuse and neglect, military families, and adolescents with suicidal ideation and attempts. Dr. Torres specializes in individual psychotherapy for anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment disorders, externalizing behavior disorders, relationship problems, and readiness for college transitions. Additionally, she provides parent training for children as young as three years of age, family psychotherapy, and school consultation. She provides a holistic and comprehensive approach while tailoring intervention to the specific needs and values of clients and their families. Dr. Torres also has an extensive history of conducting psychological and psycho-education assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults. She has assessed youth for learning and intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disorders, ADHD, emotional disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, language disorders, and giftedness.
