Valerie Sims, Psy.D, is the co-owner of Rocky Mountain Behavioral Medicine. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in chronic pain, severe and persistent mental illness, and forensic psychology. Dr. Sims received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in August of 2010. She also holds a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology (2006) from the University of Denver. Dr. Sims has practiced in correctional facilities, inpatient psychiatric hospitals (civil and forensic), outpatient community-based clinics, and an integrative, multidisciplinary chronic pain rehabilitation facility. Her training and experience includes the treatment and assessment of adults, adolescents, children, and families in all of the above listed settings. In addition, she has additional training in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults. Dr. Sims enjoys spending her free time with friends, family, and her dogs. She also enjoys traveling, baking, and performs as a percussionist with a local concert band.
