Dr. Shaw has over thirty years of extensive training and experience in the field of human behavior and sport psychology. She has served as a clinical and sport psychologist to many professional, collegiate and Olympic athletes in the U.S. and internationally. Dr. Shaw is the Assistant Director and Training Coordinator of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program at Loyola Marymount University Student Psychological Services. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of California and a past president of the Southern California Association of Black Psychologists. Dr. Shaw has a private practice in the View Park area. Her primary areas of specialization includes working with professional and amateur athletes, men and women in the areas of self-esteem, relationship counseling,grief and loss concerns, separation and letting go issues, depressive and anxiety disorders. Dr. Shaw utilizes an eclectic evidence-based theoretical approach, incorporating cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, ACT, and solution focused techniques. Dr. Shaw provides expert consultation and training to athletes, coaches and athletic administration in the areas of (i.e., performance enhancement, mental skills training, stress management, decision-making ability, leadership, healthy communication, emotional management, chronic trauma, performance anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anger management, domestic violence, and sexual assault awareness) to improve individual behavior and team performance. She has assisted many athletes to positions of excellence, producing, world champions, national champions, collegiate record holders, national and world rankings and Olympians. The Wave newspaper in Southern California, featured Dr. Shaw advice column, (Ask Dr. Tracy). Dr. Shaw has been featured many times in a variety of professional and national periodicals. In Los Angeles. Dr. Shaw is known as the relationship expert due to her appearances on Stevie Wonder's radio station KJLH.
