Born in rural Kentucky, I have always been interested in helping people optimize their lives, especially those who may not always have access to high-quality services. After considering medical school, I found clinical psychology better equipped to address health, behavioral health, and mental health needs by focusing on thoughts, behaviors, emotions, values, and purpose. My training at Auburn University and later at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center prepared me to assist with a variety of presenting concerns, including parenting difficulties, behavior problems, health issues, mental health issues (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma), educational difficulties, sleep difficulties, behavioral health (e.g., obesity, smoking cessation), and public health concerns. After working as a professor for 8 years, I transitioned to private practice. I currently work at Chestnut Park Professionals in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I provide individual, parent training, and family services for children, adolescents, college students, and adults. I also provide consultation services and am certified as a Within Agency Trainer in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
