Dr. Christiansen has been in private practice as a clinical psychologist for 23 years. In addition, she has served as both an assistant and adjunct professor for over 8 years at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Prior to teaching, she was a testing director of a township youth service bureau in which she provided psychological evaluations and family therapy. Currently, she provides individual, family and marriage counseling and serves as a consultant to schools and families with children requiring special education services. Her areas of expertise in practice include trauma, anxiety and attachment issues relating to foster care, adoption and divorce. She utilizes a variety of clinical techniques including Somatic Experiencing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT and Jungian Psychoanalysis. In her free time, she enjoys running, walking her dogs, and spending time with her teenage son.
