I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. In my final year of doctoral training, I interned at the ENRM Veterans Affairs Hospital in Bedford, MA. In this setting, I provided individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment to military veterans. Many veterans I saw struggled with addictions, mood disorders, and the lasting effects of traumatic life experiences, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). During my doctoral training, I also worked in a variety of other mental health settings in the Washington, DC, area, such as the American University Counseling Center, the Catholic University Counseling Center, the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, and the Arlington County Mental Health Center. I have been in private practice in Washington, DC since 2005. Prior to this I was a Staff Psychologist and the Coordinator of Research at the Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring, MD. In this setting, I provided intensive individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment to adults in a residential treatment center. Clients at the center struggled with issues such as addictions, the effects of trauma, mood disorders, and longstanding significant relationship problems. I spend most of my time providing individual psychotherapy to adults. I work with individuals with a number of presenting concerns, including relationship problems, mood disorders (e.g., depression and anxiety), addictions (e.g., alcohol, drug, and sex addictions), trauma histories (e.g., sexual abuse, combat trauma, etc.), and more.
