A collaborative approach will help you understand and overcome the places where you're stuck and do the things you truly value in life. ------- Dr. Sell is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania. He has extensive training and experience in working with substance use disorders, as well as mental health disorders, especially PTSD. He completed his postdoctoral residency at the Addiction Institute of New York, Mount Sinai, where he received specialized training in evidence-based approaches to substance use problems, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and motivational enhancement strategies.
Dr. Sell is qualified to treat a range of problems and specializes in substance use and trauma. He has worked in both hospital settings and outpatient clinics and is sensitive to the experiences of people who may have been marginalized based on race, gender or LGBTQ identity.
Dr. Sell has experience using Prolonged Exposure therapy (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy for treatment of PTSD and Cognitive-Behavioral approaches to problems with anxiety, depression, phobias and tic disorders. He completed an APA-approved internship at Elwyn Behavioral Health in Philadelphia, where he worked with a diverse client population. He has also conducted trainings and taught graduate courses on assessment and treatment of co-occurring disorders. In addition, he has taught psychology courses at Northampton Community College for over six years.
