Dr. Johnson is a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. She has been providing mental health services for over 15 years and draws on experiences in a wide range of settings. Dr. Johnson specializes in the evaluation of adults and elder adults experiencing memory problems or other cognitive difficulties due to the natural effects of aging and suspected or diagnosed neurological illness and injury (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury). She has broad experience evaluating and treating patients at all stages of disease and recovery. Her clinical approach involves performing a comprehensive evaluation of cognition and emotion, producing a written report for the referring provider, and providing interactive feedback to the patient and their family, caregiver, or support system. Dr. Johnson has specialty training and expertise in conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of candidates for bariatric, spinal cord stimulator, deep brain stimulator, and organ transplant surgeries. As a result of her expertise in neuropsychology, Dr. Johnson also provides psychotherapy to individuals who are adjusting to new neurocognitive diagnoses and those who are experiencing caregiver burden. Her therapeutic style is integrative, incorporating the techniques best suited to each patient’s unique needs and strengths. She considers therapy a partnership and enjoys working with patients who are motivated to approach their problems in a new way.
