I am a Florida licensed school psychologist in private practice. I am currently providing therapy and assessments via telehealth. I have over seven years of experience within Sarasota County schools and private practice. I am the mother of four children and familiar with navigating the school system and exceptional student support services within Sarasota County. I have spoken locally and nationally regarding gifted youth, siblings, and twice-exceptional students. I take pride in my cultural awareness and sensitivity and I am comfortable evaluating and interacting with children from diverse cultural backgrounds. I provide psychological evaluations and therapeutic support for youth who are struggling academically, behaviorally and socially. I strongly believe in a holistic approach with the best interest of the child in mind. This includes creating a compassionate environment in which the time and care can be taken to evaluate and support the "whole" child. I specialize in the therapeutic discovery and evaluation of each student's strengths and weaknesses, including learning disabilities, autism, giftedness (including twice-exceptional) and executive dysfunction. The evaluations provide a better understanding of how children learn, process information and regulate emotions. In addition, I have extensive experience in gifted testing for Sarasota and Manatee schools. Please visit my website for further information: herrerapsychology.com or herrerapsychology.ai
