I have maintained a private psychotherapy practice since 1996, in New York City until 2016, then in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and since 2018 in Naples, Florida. I saw patients in my office on 5th Avenue S until the COVID-19 pandemic, and I now work exclusively by video and phone, providing Telehealth to individuals and groups. My specialties are anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and grief and loss. I have been working intimately with those whose loved ones have dementia, as well as those who are dealing with grief and loss. In addition to individual and couples psychotherapy, I also offer two groups, an Anxiety Reduction group, and a Frontline Healthcare Workers Support group, both on Zoom. I utilize clinical hypnosis, as well as guided imagery, dream work and EFT (tapping). Since the early 90s I have worked with survivors of childhood trauma and abuse and their often disabling aftereffects. My trauma work history also includes having treated those with HIV/AIDS by doing pre- and post-test counseling and individual and group therapy with positive individuals with co-occuring mental illness. and volunteering with the FDNY after 9/11 where I was assigned to a Manhattan fire house to help the firefighters process their traumatic experiences and the loss of one of the men in the house. I lost my spouse to Alzheimer's Disease after years of decline. Having walked that painful path enables me to help others work through the difficult terrain of anticipatory grief and eventually the challenges of death and bereavement. My many years of experience have given me the training and tools to help those motivated and ready to address their issues and live their best life despite all the obstacles they have encountered along the way.
