Dr. Zarinejad is a licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing in Encino, California. She has over 20 years of clinical, research and teaching experience. Dr. Zarinejad specializes in treating adults who suffer from depression, anxiety, traumas, cross cultural issues, adjustment issues and general life concerns. She also has extensive experience with individual and couples dealing with relationship struggles, divorce or other losses.
Dr. Zarinejad was the clinical director of a five year study on the course and outcome of Bipolar Illness on adolescents, as part of a research study at UCLA. In addition, as an expert witness, she has provided testimonies in Los Angeles court on topics related to mental health issues of immigrants.
Dr. Zarinejad earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1992 from the Alliant University/California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles (accredited by the American Psychological Association). Her post graduate training was completed at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. She was licensed from the board of psychology in 1996. Her pre doctoral experiences includes, psychoanalytic training at the Wright institute Los Angeles and Family Stress Center, Child and Family Guidance Center.
Dr. Zarinejad is a member of American Psychological Association. Furthermore, she was the former treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustee of the Iranian Psychological Association of America.
