I am a licensed clinical psychologist and developmental psychologist, with specializations in clinical medical ethics, neuropsychology, and psychotherapy.
I presently have a private psychotherapy practice, focusing on relational and identity issues in adolescents through adults. I see patients either virtually or in my Pilsen neighborhood (Chicago) office, and by appointment only. I utilize a multicultural and trauma-informed approach, that is integrative and solution focused. My psychotherapy practice is empirically grounded and collaborative in the development of a treatment plan that is engaged and iterative. I work from a position of cultural humility and advocacy, and have specific expertise in addressing current and developmental considerations regarding coping with medical and neurodevelopmental challenges, effective mood management, problem solving, life transitions, men's and women's issues, and concerns regarding self-efficacy and self-esteem. I am open to referrals to my wait list for potential treatment.
I also work in population health and clinical trials design and management within the pharmaceutical industry, with Clario eCOA Neuroscience, as Senior Scientific Expert in Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Rare Diseases.
I was previously Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, and Pediatrics with UChicago Medicine and Biological Sciences Division (BSD). I served 22 years on the faculty at UChicago, where I was Director of Neuropsychology for UChicago Medicine and Comer Children's Hospital, Vice-Chair of the UChicago Medicine and BSD Institutional Review Board, a faculty member with the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, and a Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Health and the Social Sciences. I was an Academic Associate with the Chicago Center for the HIV Elimination (CCHE), as attending supervisor with the BIPOC Queer and Trans Psychotherapy Program and involved with research, until late 2024.
