As a clinical health psychologist, I believe in the value of understanding the intricacies of the mind-body connection. My clinical and research interests lie in the area of illness adjustment and management, sleep disorders, and sexuality and intimacy issues in chronic illness. I primarily work with adults (18 and over) who struggle with depression and/or anxiety in the context of chronic medical conditions including cardiovascular conditions, multiple sclerosis, autoimmune conditions, diabetes, cancer, and transplant recipients. I also have special interest in working with caregivers of individuals living with chronic and/or neurological conditions. In addition, I am board certified in behavioral sleep medicine focusing on non-pharmaceutical approaches for the treatment of sleep disorders including insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, night/shift work, adjustment to PAP therapy for obstructive and central sleep apnea, and persistent or recurrent nightmares. Prior to my role in private practice, I worked in a variety of outpatient and inpatient medical settings, providing individual, couples, and group therapy.
