Ronnie Zuessman, PhD, is a psychologist in active clinical practice of consultation, assessment, psychometrics and psychotherapy, with more than 40 years of experience. Dr Zuessman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with the Virginia Board of Psychology and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the Virginia Board of Counseling. Dr Zuessman is a Life Member of the American Psychological Association, a Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Certified Sex Therapist in the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Dr Zuessman has engaged in clinical practice in the United States, New Zealand and Australia. Having worked with culturally diverse populations, Dr Zuessman appreciates the importance of sensitively engaging peoples from diverse backgrounds and actively empowering them in therapeutic processes. Dr Zuessman has an integrative theoretical orientation, grounded in existential and humanistic psychology, drawing from psychodynamic, systemic, and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches. As a psychotherapist Dr Zuessman seeks to promote understanding of a person’s unique perspective and consideration of the context and systems within which he/she lives. Dr Zuessman’s services include: personal consultation; psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families; psychological assessment; legal reports for civil, criminal, and professional matters; organizational consultation; professional teaching and seminars; clinical supervision; and research. Dr Zuessman has taught practitioners at many universities, including serving as clinical associate professor of psychological sciences, and director of a psychology training clinic. He is currently Clinical Associate Professor in Psychiatry with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
