Robert Mathieson, Ph.D., C. Psych., is a registered Clinical Psychologist with an office in Oakville, Ontario. He provides psychoeducational assessments, mental health assessments, and psychological interventions for children, adolescents, adults and families.
He completed his doctoral training in School and Clinical Child Psychology at the University Toronto and completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre in Toronto, a multidisciplinary environment where psychologists work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, and school staff. While he was at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre he also received his training in adult clinical psychology.
Additionally, his training has included placements at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto as well as psycho-educational assessment experience through the Peel District School Board. In 2004 he was the winner of the Ontario Neurotrauma foundation research grant worth $50,000. He also has a significant research background and was the lead investigator on a functional magnetic resonance imaging study looking at the neurophysiological substrates associated with verbal and pictorial metaphors.
Moreover, he has an applied neuroscience research background in schizophrenia with Allelix Biopharmaceuticals in Malton, Ontario.
