Rob Durr is a Licensed Psychologist in Asheville, North Carolina where he is the Principal Owner and Psychologist of Roots Psychology, PLLC, a private, national psychological services firm. Roots Psychology has two branches; (1) Clinical Psychology services for Western North Carolina and (2) Organizational Psychology services nationally.
Dr. Durr maintains an Adjunct Faculty appointment at both Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law and the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law where he teaches a for-credit, mindfulness-based, emotional intelligence (EI) leadership course.
Dr. Durr completed an APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Northwestern University prior to staying on as a Psychologist in the Health Center and Adjunct Faculty member in the Law School. During his time at Northwestern, he worked closely with the Schools of Medicine, Law, and Engineering to introduce new personal development courses on mindfulness, wellness, and emotional intelligence.
Dr. Durr is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and affiliate of Division 17, Society of Counseling Psychology, and Division 13, Society of Consulting Psychology, and he is the Co-Chair of the Organizational Counseling Psychology Special Interest Group (SIG), a group of the Society of Counseling Psychology
Prior to Northwestern University, Dr. Durr provided both clinical and business consulting services for the state of Colorado, a Denver-based international business psychology firm, the National Center for Intermodal Transportation (NCIT), and the Health and Counseling Center (HCC) at the University of Denver. Dr. Durr earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver, a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Arizona State University, and a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology from Southern Illinois University.
