Dr. Wert has been in practice and licensed as a psychologist for over 20 years. Her office is in a historic neighborhood near downtown Buffalo and is easily accessible by public transportation. She has had considerable training and experience in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety disorders including phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship problems, women's issues and workplace stress. She utilizes mindfulness and relaxation strategies where useful. Working with people experiencing behavioral "addictions" or habits such as excessive eating, spending, gambling, internet use, etc., as well as working with family members affected by these issues or by substance abuse, is also a specialty. She works with adults of all ages. While it is important to examine personal and family issues from the past and how they may influence the present, Dr. Wert recognizes that it is especially important to help people set goals and make changes so they can improve their lives NOW.
