As a Clinical Health Psychologist, she works with individuals to alleviate emotional distress and to facilitate improved mental and physical health. Dr. Mazzei offers individual counseling to teens and adults and couples counseling. Additionally, she performs psychological assessments. She treats anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, relationship issues, and specific health conditions. She integrates health psychology to treat the behavioral issues connected to insomnia, stress management, infertility, chronic disease, chronic pain, eating issues and weight loss.
Dr. Mazzei’s approach to treatment relies on a biopsychosocial approach, improving your brain, body, and lifestyle. Her main treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, biofeedback, neurofeedback, hypnotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and mindfulness-based therapies.
Dr. Mazzei obtained her Bachelor of Science at Northwestern University and her Master of Arts and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She is Board Certified in Biofeedback, a Certified Hypnotherapist, and an active member of multiple psychological associations.
