I utilize a systems approach to wellness that incorporates developmental, psychological, and social strengths in assessment and treatment. My interactions with clients are grounded in compassion, respect, empathy, and an understanding of cultural impacts. I consider the role of a therapist as helping clients develop the insight and skills necessary to overcome their personal and situational challenges. I prefer to use child-centered, play therapy with children. I am also trained in Trauma-focused CBT, and EMDR. Specific areas of focus include reunification therapy, foster-care and adoption, Asperger’s Disorder, mediation regarding custody, and trauma. In addition to providing individual, family, & group therapy, I conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for AD/HD, learning disorders, & behavioral issues, as well as forensic evaluations to determine child custody, parental competency, & disability determination. I often consult with schools, the courts, & medical practices.
