My theoretical orientation is integrated- which means I choicefully provide counseling drawing predominantly from Humanistic and Cognitive-Constructivist/ Cognitive Behavioral theories. I have completed over 90 hours of training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) including training and working under a consultant. I integrate that form of trauma therapy with the other ways I’ve provided trauma therapy over the past 28 years. I approach work from a multicultural/systems approach. I honor all cultures and work a lot with people of color and non-heterosexual people. I work with adults which is generally on an individual basis. I include families and significant others in the counseling process as it supports growth.
