I was a fellow in clinical psychology and a research fellow at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center (Payne Whitney). Prior to entering private practice, I worked in the public sector where I directed an outpatient clinic, supervised staff, consulted with inpatient units, co-developed a sub-clinic for the treatment of mood disorders, and developed and directed a training program for doctoral psychology students. My training includes extensive continuing education in family therapy, in psychodynamic therapy, in cognitive behavioral approaches, and in the uses of clinical hypnosis, especially for behavioral medicine and pain management. I have taught other mental health professionals psychoanalytic approaches and clinical hypnosis. I am an American Society of Clinical Hypnosis approved consultant. My work is informed by an interpersonal understanding of development, but a variety of integrative approaches are used to work on desired change and well-being in the present.
