Dr. Michelle Prosje is a licensed psychologist/neuropsychologist and president of NeuroBehavioral Specialists of Jacksonville, Inc. (NBS-JAX). Dr. Prosje has extensive training in education and psychology, including developmental, school, and neuro-psychology. Her undergraduate majors included special education and dance education. After college, she moved overseas to The Netherlands and Thailand to teach children in international schools. Following five years overseas, she returned stateside to pursue graduate education in school psychology from UF and clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from GSPP. She trained at Emory’s Center for Rehabilitation and completed her internship studies at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She was fellowship trained at the University of Florida Center for Movement Disorders and Department of Clinical and Health Psychology in Gainesville. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan with various neurological disorders and physical limitations, including individuals with stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and many others. Since her move to Jacksonville in September 2011, Dr. Prosje has worked for Brooks Rehabilitation and Neuropsychology Consultants. She currently is active in the Parkinson’s disease community and conducts the UF Health-JAX monthly support group for patients. She is also actively involved in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Healthcare Provider Council for Puerto Rico and Florida. She helps sponsor the Jacksonville Essential Tremor Support Group. She works closely with local neurologists, psychiatrists, and primary care providers to provide neuropsychological evaluations and neurobehavioral treatment. Dr. Prosje’s approach to patient care is to care for the whole person and raise awareness of the mind (brain), heart (emotion), and body (physical/medical issues) connection. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside in nature.
