I am part of the team at the The Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy, which provides Individual, Relationship, and Group Psychotherapy as well as Psychological Assessment. We believe that you deserve to work with someone who understands and affirms the complexities of your identities. We are committed to providing excellent therapy for all, with a special focus on those who hold marginalized identities, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and the LGBTQ communities. After being based in Georgia for four years, I am now based in upstate New York; am licensed in New York and remain licensed in Georgia as well as Tennessee, and am a registered Telehealth provider in Florida. I am a Licensed Psychologist, and received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (2015) from the University at Albany. I am currently taking new clients (Telehealth only) for psychotherapy as well as for psychological assessment (such as for learning disorders, ADHD, symptom or personality concerns, or career assessment). My psychotherapy practice is based on the best psychotherapy science, from which we know the therapy relationship and the fit between client and therapist are most strongly related to seeing benefits from therapy. I enjoy working collaboratively with individuals of all backgrounds, including racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds, to help them toward their personal goals for change. Through developing a caring, nonjudgmental, and safe space, I work to create an environment in which clients can examine and better understand themselves and the challenges they face. I have experience working with a wide variety of concerns; I have particular expertise in working with addiction/substance abuse; trauma; sexual orientation and gender identity (LGBTQIA+); and issues related to experiencing racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression.
