Mehgan K. Devine received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, with a concentrated specialty in Family Systems Therapy. Dr. Devine received a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University with a combined major of Exercise Science and Psychology. Dr. Devine has completed post-graduate specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ecopsychology. Dr. Devine's previous clinical experience has included working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples in a variety of settings including: inpatient and outpatient hospital clinic, intensive outpatient care, community mental health, Chicago schools, college counseling centers, long-term care facilities, and private practice settings. In addition, she has taught Family Systems Therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Devine has treated a diverse population of clients, including those who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders, marital and relationship problems, parenting issues, juvenile justice, and athletes struggling with eating disorders and/or performance anxiety. She has conducted research on how experiencing trauma affects the functioning of the family unit and the family's ability to relate to one another. Dr. Devine's clinical interests include helping those struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, relationship problems, low self-esteem, health issues, perinatal well-being, life stage transitions, trauma/PTSD, and stress reduction by utilizing a Systemic therapeutic approach while simultaneously incorporating insight, awareness, coping skills, and additional pragmatic therapeutic techniques. Dr. Devine currently operates a hybrid telehealth/in person private practice in Evanston, IL where she focuses on mood and anxiety issues, relationship therapy, trauma therapy, and ecotherapy.
