I am Marsha McDonough, Ph.D., licensed psychologist and family therapist in Austin, Texas. My private practice is conveniently located in central Austin. I have over 25 years experience providing therapy, consultation, and professional supervision. I talk with clients about personal, professional, and medical dilemmas including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and relationship issues. I supervise psychologists and family therapists who are seeking licensure in Texas. My approach is collaborative, conversational, and goal focused.
My approach is collaborative, respectful, and conversational. I believe that all of us, from time to time, struggle with problems in living and that focused conversations about dilemmas generate new ideas and solutions. Clients are experts on their lives, whereas my expertise is in enlivening our conversation and our relationship in ways that help clients move toward their goals. My clients tell me that I contribute to our conversations and our relationship in ways that encourage them to think and to act more effectively. They say that I am “nice” and “easy to talk” with.
