Marla Vannucci, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with offices in Chicago, IL and Columbia, MD and an Adjunct Professor at Adler University in Chicago, IL. She received her MA and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, and her BA in psychology from New York University. She has worked in university counseling centers, community mental health, residential, and inpatient psychiatric facilities, hospital/primary care settings, and private practice. Her clinical specialties include couples therapy, women's health/maternal mental health, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting, trauma, and work/career issues. In addition, Dr. Vannucci brings expertise in organizational consultation, including designing healthy workplaces and employee development. Dr. Vannucci is a Certified Positive Discipline Parenting and Classroom Educator. She has been featured on WBEZ and Mom Talk Radio, and in publications, such as The Economist, discussing parenting and family issues, trauma, and disaster response. She contributed a chapter about increasing mindfulness and engagement in daily life to the award-winning book B is for Balance (2nd Ed): 12 Steps toward a More Balanced Life at Home and at Work. Recently, she has partnered with a certified music therapist/social worker to form Brighter Light Brigade, a musical project aimed at using kids' indie music to promote socio-emotional development and healthy emotional expression in families.
