Dr. Abramov holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sofia with a specialization in Creative Expressions (doctoral level). She has over 29 years of combined experience in the medical field. She has worked as a registered nurse, manager, and educator specializing in preventive care, chronic disease and trauma management, pain management, and hospice care. As a health care manager, she was involved in creating the hospice formulary and co-taught end-of-life care seminars, nutrition classes, mindfulness meditation and relaxation. Throughout her career, Dr. Abramov has worked in medical centers, community clinics, schools, and private medical practices serving multicultural populations and caring for the elderly, adults, and children. She specializes in chronic pain management, trauma and PTSD, grief, and existential issues. Her priority is to help clients improve their coping and problem-solving skills, learn self-soothing strategies, reduce defensiveness, and embrace the power of empathy in relationships. Dr. Abramov believes that one's vitality, well-being, success and prosperity in life are largely determined by the internal balance between the physical, emotional and spiritual states of the individual. As an integrative practitioner, she focuses on the mind-body-spirit approach to treatment, emphasizing wellness over pathology. Her training is grounded in humanistic, existential, and phenomenological theories. She embraces later research in neurophysiology and educates her clients on the relevance of neuroscience to the process of therapy and inner transformation. She also integrates evidence-based counseling approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapies into her practice. Her research interests include human potential, spirituality and health, existential issues, and the phenomenology of the sacred.
