Leslie D. Scheel, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who worked for eight years at adolescent acute care treatment programs at McLean Hospital prior to transitioning to private practice full-time in May 2023. While at McLean, she also was an instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School and provided clinical supervision to psychology doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Scheel has experience working in residential, inpatient, partial, and outpatient settings treating children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Scheel specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adolescents with mood and anxiety disorders and partnering with teens and their parents/supports to improve communication and understanding. Given her experience at higher levels of care, Dr. Scheel has a unique awareness and understanding of the adolescent mental health care system and various support options available. She utilizes evidence-based treatment in her work, primarily cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
