The foundation for successful therapy rests on the relationship formed between you and the therapist. It is the therapeutic relationship that provides a safe and private place for you to explore the feelings and issues that have brought you to therapy. My goal is to help you resolve your difficulties in a solution-focused, practical manner. My clients are individuals who appreciate a straight-forward approach, which allows them to select the pace and agenda of what is discussed. As in life, self-reflection, a sense of humor and the ability to see things from a different perspective will be useful tools for your journey.
I work with adult and adolescent clients, and specialize in life transition issues (e.g. moving from teenage to adulthood), parenting/family issues, adult and adolescent ADHD, LGBTQ affirming care and codependence. I have provided therapy since 1989, became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 1998, and a licensed Psychologist in 2000. I earned my doctoral degree from Argosy University (formerly American School of Professional Psychology-Virginia) in 1999.
