Dr. Blackwood-Ellis is a Clinical Psychologist who is licensed to practice psychology in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is trained as both a School Psychologist and a Clinical Psychologist. She has extensive experience providing individual, family, group, and couples therapy; psycho-diagnostic and psycho-educational evaluations; admissions testing; consultation; and training to children, adolescents, adults, and organizations. Her areas of expertise include physical and sexual abuse, learning disabilities, adjustment issues, depression, diversity, and women's issues. She has worked in schools, courts, community mental health centers, hospitals, churches, and in private practice. She currently co-owns Psychological and Educational Associates, PLLC (a private practice in Washington, DC), works as a consultant to private, independent, and public schools, and has worked as a consultant to the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.
