I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA. – a leading institution in the integrative understanding of people and their world. For the past 13 years, I have worked with children, teenagers and adults, individually or in groups, of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. I have worked in urban forensic inpatient drug rehabilitation centers, counseling centers, and private practice. As a licensed psychoanalytic psychologist, I view the self-knowledge that this approach emphasizes as both the primary objective of therapy and the basis for overall good health. MY PHILOSOPHY All people have a drive to learn about themselves, and when ill, to understand the personal meanings of their illness. I believe that all people, when given support, help, and knowledge of the mind, can heal. And I believe that most people can understand, with help, how unconscious conflicts cause illness, and that this understanding, and only this understanding, can sustain well-being.
