I am trained in effective, evidenced-based approaches including CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. The core of my work aligns best, however, with an Internal Family Systems Model of functioning that embraces the complexity of our human brains. We are capable, and even built, for contradiction. The very sensations or symptoms that trouble us frequently are adaptations to protect and keep us going about our daily lives. My goal is to help clients disengage from patterns of self-judgment, irritability, anger, fear, guilt, or sadness that keep them stuck, while building capacities for pleasure and creativity.
