Prior to becoming a psychologist, I was a registered dietitian for 20 years. As such, I take a holistic approach to wellness, incorporating lifestyle and environmental factors into the mindfulness-based psychotherapy I provide.
My therapeutic style combines lived experience with years of academic study and the expertise that arises from providing services to a variety of populations. I have experience working with all ages, utilizing different modalities such as sand tray, movement, drama, and art. I provide talk therapy as well! I am also trained in EMDR and hypnotherapy. I work with a range of ages, from preschool children to older adults who do not have dementia.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have provided psychotherapy to workers who have been injured on the job as they heal from the psychological trauma that often accompanies their physical injuries. Other populations I serve include people who belong to marginalized groups (i.e, people of color, neurodivergent, LBGTQ, etc.), and veterans. Areas of interest and expertise include Autism, ADHD, grief/loss/mourning, trauma, living with chronic mental and/or physical illness, adjustment issues and multicultural concerns. I will eventually offer group psychotherapy, but for now I provide individual, couples and family therapy on a private pay basis.
