Dr. Royster’s educational background has been centered around families and children. She received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Family Social Science, with a minor in Family Violence Prevention from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Following this, Dr. Royster received a Master of Arts (MA) in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver. She then completed her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology in the American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program at the University of Denver. Dr. Royster’s graduate work focused on children and families, with a specialty in early childhood mental health and assessment. Dr. Royster completed an APA accredited predoctoral psychology internship at Rogers Memorial Hospital working with children and adolescents with severe mental and behavioral health conditions. Her postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin Madison was focused on working with new mothers and babies, and in an outpatient practice working with children and families. During this time, Dr. Royster also obtained a post-graduate certificate in Infant, Early Childhood, and Family Mental Health from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. Prior to practicing as a Licensed Psychologist in Colorado, Dr. Royster practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and Colorado. Dr. Royster is currently a member of the American Psychological Association and Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health. She holds a certificate in Perinatal Mood Disorders from Postpartum Support International and has held teaching and assistant teaching positions at the University of Denver.
