Julie has been helping individuals work through their life challenges for several years. In doing this, Julie diligently strives to create a safe and empathic environment so that the client feels comfortable and confident in sharing honestly. This is how she works to create a solid working alliance with her clients. Julie recognizes that the things people do in the present are very often influenced by experiences from their past, which is why she works to help clients regain clarity and calmness, as well as a sense of trust and peace
Julie’s education, training, and experience emphasize the multiple facets of human development and identity: physical development, intellectual development, social development, cultural influence, and relational influence. She has had specialized training in treating trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, perfectionism, personality disorders, and relational difficulties. Using a holistic approach to therapy, Julie recognizes that historical and social contexts, familial relations, emotional and cognitive development, and cultural factors have shaped the way clients see the world and their experiences. Julie’s private practice includes work with individuals, couples, adolescents, young adults, adults, older adults, minorities, and LGBTQ+.
