Dr. Smedley has held dual appointments as adjunct assistant professor in the School of Education, and the Purdue School of Science - Department of Psychology, at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He is the former Chair of the Department of Psychology at Martin University. Dr. Smedley obtained his BS in psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and an MS and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Howard University in Washington, DC. He was awarded a Certificate for Social Scientists in Neuroscience from the University of California, Irvine.
