My work in psychology has focused on issues related to brain disorders including dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions. I also have extensive experience treating people with chronic illness, and providing support to family members of persons with neurological and medical problems. My expertise in medically-related services grew during 22 years working in rehabilitation hospitals, and has continued in private practice since 2007. I also provide psychological assessment, and psychotherapy to assist in coping with a variety of problems related to mood and behavior. My treatment approach draws largely from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a behavioral therapy whose goal is to help persons live a rich, full and meaningful life.
