John P. Vincent, Ph.D., ABPP is Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston. He formerly served as Department Chairman and as Director of the Doctoral Training Program in Clinical Psychology. He also has held a clinical faculty appointment at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas and maintains a practice in clinical psychology specializing in marriage and family therapy. He is board certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is also a licensed marriage and family therapist. He has edited a five volume series; Advances in Family Intervention, Assessment and Theory and a book entitled Domestic Violence: Research Informed Practice Guidelines (with Dr. E. N. Jouriles). In addition to his service on the editorial boards of the Journal of Marriage and Family Therapy and the American Journal of Family Therapy, he has authored over 200 research articles, book chapters, and conference presentations.
