Dr. Carosso has more than 35 years of experience as a Clinical Child Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist. He is Clinical Director of Community Psychiatric Centers and operates both the Dyslexia Diagnostic and Treatment Center and the Autism Center of Pittsburgh. In that respect, Dr. Carosso has dedicated his career to helping children, and empowering parents in becoming confident and capable in meeting their children's needs. Dr. Carosso has worked for over 25 years as a Certified School Psychologist, including for a decade at Dade County Public Schools in Miami, FL, the fourth largest school district in the country where he worked at Barbara Goleman Sr. High School, the largest high school east of the Mississippi. He also worked as a school psychologist in Pittsburgh and, in that respect, has come to specialize in assessing and diagnosing learning issues. Over the past 10 years, he has specialized further in the assessment and treatment of dyslexia and opened the Dyslexia Diagnostic & Treatment Center where countless children have been treated with subsequent excellent progress in their reading skills. Dr. Carosso is published on the topic, and has written a great deal to help educate parents on the subject. In his ongoing pursuit of informing and empowering parents, Dr, Carosso has produced the video series, "Dr. C's Morning Minute," that provides helpful strategies for parents to effectively manage childhood dyslexia and other learning issues, ADHD, autism, and behavioral, and emotional disorders. He also formerly co-hosted the weekly PCNC cable television program "Community Psychiatric Centers Presents", targeting childhood mental health issues, and was a regular guest on various talk shows, including "Night Talk", discussing childhood issues and related current events. He is also a regular contributor to local newspapers and magazines regarding autism, ADHD, dyslexia and childhood issues.
