Dr. Jodie Goldberg Singer is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 10 years of experience treating children, adolescents, families, and adults from diverse backgrounds. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and child and family therapy.
Her areas of interest include: early childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, adult anxiety and depression, childhood and adulthood trauma, parenting, strengthening the parent-child relationship, and family therapy. Other areas of interest include navigating life transitions and self-identity and cultural identity exploration.
Before co-founding the Chicago Center for Growth and Change, Dr. Goldberg Singer was a psychologist at Illinois Masonic Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Services for eight years. While there, she provided clinical supervision and training to psychology doctoral students, staff therapists, and family practice residents. She co-facilitated a psychotherapy group for adolescent girls, focusing on building self-esteem, creating healthy peer relationships, and developing adaptive coping skills. She also took part in the parenting program. She co-led a process group for female survivors of sexual abuse.
She has worked in various clinical settings including: a therapeutic preschool, several behavioral health outpatient clinics, an afterschool tutoring program, an elementary school, and a private practice office. She is trained in the following evidenced-based treatments: Certification in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and several parenting therapies. She has advanced training using EMDR to treat early childhood trauma.
