Dr. Jessica Sawyer received her undergraduate degree with distinction in psychology and sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, she worked at a residential treatment center for adolescent girls before earning a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Clinical and Developmental Psychology from the University of Maine. Dr. Sawyer completed her predoctoral internship at Stanford University Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Health Council, and remained at the Children’s Health Council for her postdoctoral fellowship which she completed in August 2006. After her postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Sawyer worked at Morrissey-Compton Educational Center in Palo Alto, California and became a licensed psychologist in 2008. During her several years with that practice, Dr. Sawyer specialized in conducting psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults, and assisting families in securing the appropriate interventions and academic supports. Dr. Sawyer is currently a licensed psychologist and Health Services Provider in the state of North Carolina. She opened Strive Psychological & Learning Assessments to serve clients in the Belmont and greater Charlotte area.
