Dr. Bashem is a licensed clinical psychologist. He graduated with B.A.s in Psychology and Philosophy from UC Santa Cruz and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Bashem completed his Psychological Internship at the West Los Angeles VA and developed expertise in treating PTSD, Interpersonal Trauma, and Sexual Assault during his advanced training at the UCSD/San Diego VA Postdoctoral Fellowship. His has experience within neuropsychology, forensics, college campuses, outpatient mental health clinics, and is certified as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Expert. Dr. Bashem’s approach to psychotherapy promotes deep personal understanding of one’s self, struggles, and interpersonal problems. He fosters a compassionate, safe, and productive environment to empower and transform overwhelming obstacles into manageable problems for his clients. He is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Interpersonal, Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapies and Behavioral Therapy (skills-based training).
