My development as a clinical psychologist was a lengthy process with intensive doctorate-level psychotherapy and diagnostic assessment training at Sam Houston State University. I then completed a year-long predoctoral internship at Baylor College of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship at Baylor Scott & White. I was trained in a variety of research/empirically supported modalities to diagnose and treat mental and behavioral health concerns, including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Therapeutic Assessment (TA). I work closely with my clients to develop a flexible, dynamic, and collaborative treatment plan. My goal as your psychologist is to provide you with a safe environment so that you may explore the areas of your life you think need attention. I look forward to helping you reach your emotional health goals!
Over the course of my career, I have also engaged in extensive training and have years of experience providing psychological evaluations, consultation, and expert witness testimony in legal contexts. I am routinely appointed by courts and hired by attorneys in state and federal court systems (defense and prosecution) to assess Defendants for competency to stand trial and sanity (mental status at the time of the offense). I also routinely contract with attorneys for consultation (and assessment) regarding violence risk, diminished capacity, and mitigation.
