Dr. Jennifer Lail was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. She completed her bachelor's degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in psychology and political science. She then completed her master's degree in public administration at the University of Hawaii at Manoa while working with a nonprofit health plan and its community community health centers to develop and expand culturally-appropriate services in diverse areas of Hawaii. Dr. Lail then completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Lail completed her pre doctoral internship at Virginia Beach City Public Schools, where she completed rotations in the preschool diagnostic center, in middle-school and elementary school programs for children with emotional-behavioral disorders, and served as the psychologist for an elementary and high school. Dr. Lail completed her postdoctoral residency at Florida Psychological Associates, LLC, where she continued to practice, post-licensure primarily working with children and families, who typically refer to her as "Dr. Jen." Dr. Lail provides comprehensive psychological evaluations and care for a range of concerns, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, and behavioral, developmental, and learning concerns. She provides a range of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), parent training, and behavioral management supports. Dr. Lail, a proud military spouse and her family relocated to Virginia last year and are enjoying playing tourist and exploring all that the DMV has to offer. She is excited to be joining FamilyFirst and the chance to support local families.
