Dr. Jenna Preston is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Registered, Board Certified Art Therapist. Dr. Preston earned a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from The George Washington University [GWU] and was an adjunct professor at GWU from 2010-2014. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the American School of Professional Psychology, Washington DC using her spouse’s Post 911 GI Bill. Her career and training include serving children, adolescents, and adults within community mental health, inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, correctional, residential substance abuse settings, and a unique opportunity to work with the Metropolitan Police in Washington DC. Dr. Preston is a proud (retired) military spouse. Her husband retired from the Air Force as an officer. While stationed overseas in England, she opened a private art therapy practice serving military children and spouses. Dr. Preston has been volunteering as an art therapist providing an open art therapy studio space for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors [TAPS] starting in 2022 to support the survivors impacted by military loss (e.g., combat-related, suicide, natural causes, accidental, etc.). This honor has included serving as a volunteer art therapist at the Institute for Hope and Healing seminars in Dallas, Denver, and Boston where she worked along attendees impacted by military suicide and serving at the TAPS National Military Survivor’s Seminar [NMSS] in 2023, 2024 and 2025 held annually in Arlington, VA. Dr. Preston has worked as a Clinical Psychologist at Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, CO since 2018 serving active-duty military from all six branches, their spouses, and military children. On Buckley, she is known as “Dr. Preston,” “BHOP,” or PCBH providing integrative behavioral health services inside the 460th MDG Primary Care Clinic.
