I have been in private practice since 2002, working to help those with a variety of difficulties, including anxiety and depression. Additionally, I was on faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina for many years, conducting research in the areas of trauma exposure and the cognitive behavioral treatments for anxiety disorders and mood disorders. I am a longstanding member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the South Carolina Psychological Association.
As a clinical psychologist, my goal is to help you discover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. By deciding to engage in therapy, you can move closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. While we cannot change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand how your past has impacted you and resolve challenges in your life. By applying cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative cognitions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Please contact me to set up an appointment.
