I have a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford, but Stanford did not (and does not) have a clinical program, and I am not a clinician. Stanford trained me to be an experimentalist and researcher. I can consult with you on statistics and experimental design, if you are conducting a research project, or even if you just want to learn statistics for other reasons (I have a B.A. in statistics from Columbia College). Also, in my first year of graduate school I did research in hypnosis with Ernest R Hilgard (I was the last graduate student Hilgard had; he was 75 years old, and I was 19), so I selected "Hypnosis" as a clinical specialty, because it still interests me, and you don't need a license to do it; but I am not a clinician, and I make no promise that I can make you feel better. But then, neither does a clinical psychologist.
