Dr. Massa-Carroll is a bilingual (English & Spanish) psychologist with over 20 years in the field of mental health. She started her career back in 2001, serving as a Federal Government Project Officer overseeing the expenditure of federal funding which included a fiduciary role of a portfolio of more than $80M in federal grant funding. After serving as a, GS-13, U.S. Federal Public Health Advisor at the Center for Mental Health Services (SAMHSA/DHHS) and a Social Scientist at NICHD/NIH/DHHS both in the Washington, DC metro area, she decided to return to the field of direct clinical care. Her education path is evidence of perseverance and can-do attitude. She went from a small rural town in Puerto Rico to complete her graduate training at Columbia University (New York City) and Texas A&M University (College Station). Currently, Dr. Massa-Carroll is a small business owner as well as a financial contributor to organizations aimed at empowering women into leadership positions (from political organizations to non-profits). She is also an active contributor to the Food4Success Campaign which aimed at paying-off student’s lunch debt and keep Colorado children from going hungry (or in debt) while attending schools. She now lives in the Denver metro area with her husband Matt, a Durango-Colorado native, their son and her Golden Retriever Luna.
