Dr. Hilary Adams is a licensed clinical psychologist (CA 30294) providing assessment and treatment to children from 18 months to young adults. She has specialized in autism and other developmental disorders, and she also has significant experience working with typically developing children and their families. Dr. Adams completed Indiana University School of Medicine’s accredited internship program, primarily working at Riley Children’s Hospital in their autism clinic. Additionally, she received training in various pediatric clinics, including anxiety, OCD, behavioral sleep medicine, tics, pain, and consultation and liaison services for the medical inpatient department. Her post doctoral training took place at Children’s Hospital New Orleans in The Autism Center, where she completed autism diagnostic evaluations and provided a range of therapy services, including parent workshops, parent behavior management training, social skills groups, and individual therapy for anxiety and emotion regulation problems. Dr. Adams uses empirically based treatments, including manualized treatment programs when possible. She then carefully customizes each treatment plan to serve the individual client and family in need. A collaborative focus and data-based approach means clients and families can learn skills and see progress in short-term therapy (e.g., eight to sixteen sessions). Further, with her warm demeanor and sense of humor, Dr. Adams makes therapy comfortable and enjoyable for the child and caregivers.
