I was born in Chicago and moved as a child to the New York, New Jersey Area. I came back to the Midwest (Miami of Ohio) for undergraduate school and then moved to Michigan after graduation. I began my career as the director of an alcoholism program, served as a consultant and then moved into private practice. I have also taught psychology at the local colleges. I have practiced and taught Taijiquan for over 40 years. I have two adult daughters and four grandchildren.
